unison: Can the Sarge version be used with Sid (Kanotix)?

Hi All,

I've been using "unison" between machines running
Sarge, and it works fine.

I tried it recently from Sid (Kanotix), connecting
to a machine running Sarge, and it won't start any
more because now the versions on the client and
server machines no longer match.

How should I go about getting unison to run again?
I really like the "unison-gtk" GUI interface :)

I was wondering if maybe there's a way in Debian to
"hold back" a package so that it can interoperate
with the same version of the package on machines
running Sarge, while still letting all the
other packages still get updates?

I guess this kind of version mismatch will tend to
happen a lot more with unison than with other more
mature networking tools like rsync, given that it
needs almost exactly the same version to be
installed on the client and server machines.

Cheers,
Peter.
