Potato install - package suggestions?

Rick's tips are good and I see he replied to you, but I use a different method
of installing Debian that *usually* (IOW, when it will install) works well,
that being to install the smallest system with networking on it, and apt-get
all the above packages over the net. I think apt-get is much safer and easier
to use than dselect. My motto, if you find yourself in dselect, go wack your
head against the wall...and wack it HARD!

One package I see you don't have above that you might consider is gcc272,
there are still some occasional apps that seem to require that older version
at times, although becoming more scarce...

Debian makes it a no brainer, because both versions co-exist nicely.
