As an FYI, the Debian News site came out with its official 'Debian Project mourns the loss of Ian Murdock'[1] a couple of days ago.
Note from within this statement that Debian community and Linux community condolences may be sent to 'in-memoriam-ian at debian dot org' and that this email address will be active until the end of January 2016.
