In other words, *some* of the responders
are liable to excessive RTFMitis?
FWIW, I've had a few slightly-brusque replies
to my own newbie queries here, but by and large
the BAD list has been at least polite in letting
me know when I'm being an idiot, and rather more
patient than less, with my less-informed questions.
To the OP: You may want to look at the list archives:
http://bad.debian.net/list/
To the listgeeks -- didn't the archive used to have
a search facility? Yes, I /can/ just point Google at
it, but that's not a trick in everyones toolbox, and
IMHO the lack of such user-friendly features as a
searchable archive (even if it's just a link that
queries Google's search-facility) contribute to that
oldschool Linux-as-a-veiled-mystery schtick, in a non-
good way.
