test memory chips with Knoppix

Knoppix used to have memtest.  Porbably still does.  Look at the
options when in grub.  Linux and BSD can run with bad ram if you
mark it off.  Never had to do it but ram is so cheap these days and
it's likely the corruption would spread, so...
