Yes, but where a version can be defined as "the current version in
non-free from the debian.org site".
A "predefined pin" is experimental, for example. And with pins, you can
also downgrade a system from unstable to testing, for example, by saying
"install the version from testing even when there is a newer version in
a different repository".
