Great.

Question for the list: How many are likely to attend the BOF?
Here is part of the msg I sent Danny Cox, BOF manager, and his reply:
I wrote:

1) The monthly Debian dinner meeting group, Bay Area Debian,
http://bad.debian.net , will be holding our Nov meeting one evening
during ALS. We would like to invite all persons intersted in Debian to
attend this meeting, where we will talk about all things Debian. We
would like to be put on some calendar of ALS events, and the BOFs seem
like the most relevant calendar type.

As the person in charge of arranging this meeting, I hereby request
that you provide us the Thurs 11/8 6:15-8 PM timeslot for this meeting,
if that is at all possible.

I see on
http://www.linuxshowcase.org/bofschedule.html
http://www.linuxshowcase.com/ataglance.html
http://www.linuxshowcase.com/tech.html
that this only conflicts with the
7:30 pm - 8:00 pm 10th Birthday Party for Linux

Perhaps the Debian meeting could only go till 7:30 PM, but I'd like to
try to get scheduled for 6:15-8 PM, and let the attendees decide
individually if they wish to leave the Debian meeting early to attend
the birthday party event.

It would be really great if you were able to provide a room at ALS
where we could hold our meeting. If that is not possible, I suppose we
could go to a restaurant nearby.

I don't know how this might be arranged, but if ALS could provide a
room, perhaps some method could be produced such that attendees at the
Debian meeting could pay for a meal then, assuming that the cost might
be $5-$10 per person, and that it was optional for a meeting attendee
to purchase the meal.

I am very unsure as to the number of people that might liketoattend
this event. BAD generally has 5-20 attendees. But, at this
conference, perhaps there would be an order of magnitude or greater
more.

His reply was:
> The two largest rooms we have are "Oakland" and "California", eachof
> which holds only 75. That's all we have. If you'd like alargerroom,
> please consult with the hotel.

So, how many people might attend? Perhpas we should ask on
Debian-user, or have Joey do so, to get some indication?
