Alex> Who is all going to this meeting today? Just wondering, since
Alex> the list has been mostly quiet this past month.

Rick> Just a late follow-up. We had eight people: Mike Markley, Seth
Rick> David Schoen, you, me, Deirdre, Biella Coleman, John Regan, and
Rick> a fellow whose name escapes me at the moment.

That was me (Ian Zimmerman).

Rick> (Sorry!) Dinner was quite a feast, including that nice Italian
Rick> Sangiovese that three of us shared. We did discuss the
Rick> Nov. 5-10 (Mon. through Sat.) Oakland ALS event to the extent of
Rick> my saying I'd be glad to spend a day staffing the Debian booth
Rick> (Booth 3724). It'd be good if I could find out who's
Rick> coordinating people's schedules for that.

Rick> Against all odds, everyone turned out to be capable of
Rick> calculating their food tabs and correctly paying in, with one
Rick> attendee saying he had to use a credit card, because he didn't
Rick> bring enough cash.

That was also me :).

Rick> This worked out fine, but I've always been afraid that either
Rick> (1) the restaurant would turn out not to accept credit cards,
Rick> (2) the card-reader wasn't working, or (3) _two_ people both
Rick> said at the end of the meal that they had to use credit cards
Rick> for lack of cash.

An interesting feature of your diatribe (justified of course :) was
that my procmail recipes tagged your post as spam ("accept credit
cards"). Hence the lateness of my follow-up, sorry.
