What is 'dbcs'?

In any rate, there is: wnn (japanese/chinese/korean input system),
japanese fonts, crxvt with japanese support, miscellaneous howto's and 
documents in japanese, XEmacs with mule/canna/wnn support, etc, etc; 
quite a bit of stuff.

I hope you are not thinking of 'jdbc' (java database connectivity)?
