More on the Raspberry Pi for those who already OWN a RPi (not to be
confused with New York State's renown Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute[1]) as well as any other interested parties.

In approximately a week-and-a-half, Noisebridge is hosting a 3/4 day RPi
Event at its 2169 Mission St address in San Francisco [2].
RaspberryPiEvent - Noisebridge
Rob Bishop from the Raspberry Pi Foundation will be coming to visit
Noisebridge on Saturday, 29-September-2012 at 11am - 5pm. The event is
free, and open to all!

Somewhat similar to Gary Longoria's aim of using Scratch to teach
programming to high school students at the UC Berkeley Pre-College
Academy -- as per the BAD announcement of Tuesday night's BALUG
meeting [3] -- the Raspberry Pi Foundation itself is a charitable
organisation founded with the overall aim of promoting the study of
computer science and related topics, especially at school level. You can
find out more about the Foundation and the Raspberry Pi at the Raspberry
Pi website[4].

The Raspberry Pi Foundation's tour will be blogged/vlogged on the
Raspberry Pi website and they hope to attract RPi enthusiasts and
hackers/makers from across the areas they'll be visiting, allowing them
to meet and support the RPi and Hackspace communities. Further detail on
the Raspberry Pi Foundation US Hackspace Tour here [5].

Rob Bishop says that there are now "plenty" of RPi's available at MCM
Electronics [6], for those who wish to purchase these in advance of the
Noisebridge event. In addition, RPi's can still be ordered from
Element14 [7].
