C Poda quotation:
> Version control: subversion vs CVS?
With all respect, this is rather like asking "Which WOrd
Processor should I learn: WordStar or Microsoft Works?" Both are
obsolete *and know it*. The CVS folks say "please don't use this, as
subversion is much better" and even the Subversion folks issued a
release saying "Please don't bother Linus about subversion, as even we
know it's not good enough."
I recommend looking at a more modern batch of version control
systems: darcs, monotone, and if you have the stomach for it: arch.
I can't wait for bazaar-ng.org to go release so that I can
finally answer this one with a definitive single project, but MBP's
glorious amalgam is still dilligently being worked on.
> Domain name server: bind v9 vs djbdns?
Alas: http://linuxmafia.com/~rick/faq/index.php?page=warez#djb
Stick with bind9.

We would do the world a great favor if we just deleted Nick Moffitt
all software projects that described themselves as nick@zork.net
"frameworks".
A framework is just an unfinished program that nobody uses.
