Meeting in LA?

I'm flying to Boston in June and have the option to stop in LA.  I'm
wondering if I should do that.  Do you think it would be possible to
arrange a meeting in LA?  Also, would anyone let me crash at their
place for one night?

At the moment, my itinerary looks like this: I arrive in LA at 7:30am
on June 17 and I am leaving to Boston on June 18 at 1:15pm.  So I'd
essentially have one day in LA to check out the city and meet some
people.  However, I assume I'll be jetlagged.

I looked at LDAP and could only find one developer in LA.  Also,
according to the BAD archive, most meetings were held in Berkeley.  So
it there any chance of arranging a meeting in LA (or would some people
from LA be interested in going to Berkeley?  I'd personally be
interested in seeing Berkeley but have no idea how far it actually
is).

Anyway, I have to decide tomorrow whether I should make a stop-over in
LA or go to Boston directly, so let me know.
