Debian Networking

[Jonathan Jefferies]

Setting up a local network (ethernet) with
three stations.  Only link to the internet
being PPP.  But find that my debian
distribution (slink) apparently does not
have the utilities ifconfig or route.  If
this is actually correct and not the artifact
of some problem in the install then what does
debian use in their place?
